I want an Apple written 6 years ago

The logo of the apple. Or the logo of the devil. You decide.

I want an apple.

I really do, I don’t know what it is about the apple marketing chaps, but they make me want one of their shiny small boxes like nothing else.

I watched the Keynote Speech (from Macworld ‘05) by Steve Jobs yesterday. I reckon it’s him that makes me want one so badly.

Mr Steve seems like a weird character. Part of me hates that he turns up for a keynote speech wearing jeans and a t-shirt, but part of me likes that. I read things that tell me that he’s not a really nice man, but damn, he’s doing the right things to make me want a Mac.

Everything about the little (and they are little!) beasties makes me want them. Sexy exteriors. Sexy OS gimmicks. Everything that windows can be if you dangle lots of christmas baubles off it, but already done for you!

There’s just too many things to talk about that just make me excited, so I won’t. It just leaves me with a sour feeling that I’ve stuck with windows for so long, trying to kid myself that it’s as powerful as I want, and living with an OS that really doesnt offer me anything.

Power? After realising that after all I don’t really need a fast whizzy computer, as all I do really is web-peruse and listen to music. So a little Mac mini would be nice. But a Powerbook is what makes me salavate at the thought.

Shiny wizzyness, all built on unix. Gimmie!

All I need now is large sums of money to realise this want!
