Defford Air Day written 4 years ago
I found out there was to be an Air Day at a place fairly local to me at Defford Air field. Naturally I mounted my cycycle, and sweated the 17 miles to the field to have a looksee at the flying machines.
The event was to raise funds for the MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship), which it seemed to do admirably if the bloke with the donations tin had the same success from others as he had with me!
People came dressed in appropriate attire for flying vintage aircraft.
There was a visit from a WW2 Mustang, which was quite a treat to see, and the pilot didn’t disappoint with his airborne antics!
All in all a good way to spend a day - sweating in a field full of aeroplanes :D

saysOh dear, you’re turning in to an old man. (or do I mean middle class southerner?) You got some splendid shots though. I’m impressed you cycled 17 miles there in this weather though.
Today I went with a crowd to St Annes and Blackpool to play on the beach and paddle in the sea. I got burnt, flew a kite and went on a feris wheel. Take a look at my pictures here.
Tally Ho!
